Theresa Maria Forthaus (*1996) works as a photographer and artist, oscillating between visual and performing arts.
With the human body at its core, her photo, video and performance works blur the line between documentary and fiction. By combining dance, (moving) image, sound and text, she explores identity and community as continuously shifting and intrinsically linked processes.
In 2019, Theresa graduated at AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design in Enschede (NL). During her semester abroad at the University of the Arts London (UK), her photographs were published and digitally exhibited, amongst others at the Hayward Gallery and the Tate Modern in London. She was awarded the New Dutch Photography Talent Award by GUP Magazine. Her video works were shown amongst others at Art Biesenthal, independent film festivals or in collaboration with performances at Uferstudios Berlin. Theresa lives and works in Berlin.
