Theresa Maria Forthaus (*1996) works as a photographer and artist, oscillating between visual and performing arts.

In addition to the medium of photography, her artistic work is based on experimental collaborative video works that combine performance, text and sound art. By exploring the interplay between the intangible and the seemingly mundane her artistic research revolves around studies on embodiment, relational aesthetics, phenomenology and (body) language. The collaboration with artists from the fields of dance and sound as well as a participatory art practice is especially important to her. Theresa facilitates photography courses at Lette Akademie Berlin and Jugenbildungsstätte Juist.

In 2019, Theresa graduated with a B.A. at AKI ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design in Enschede (NL). During her semester abroad at the University of the Arts London (UK), her photographs were published and digitally exhibited, amongst others at the Hayward Gallery and later at the Tate Modern in London. She now lives and works in Berlin.
